BCN predicts that Chinese TV brands will hold a 60% share of the Japanese market.

    -

Nikkei reports that Chinese television brands are projected to hold approximately 60% of the Japanese television market.

Data from BCN Research shows that by 2025, REGZA will dominate in terms of market share, while Hisense and TCL combined already hold around 50%. This share could increase to 60% if Sony’s TV brand is transformed into a TCL-led joint venture.

The price gap between Chinese and Japanese brands remains wide. A 43-inch 4K LCD TV from TCL sells for around 50,000 yen (approximately US$320 at the latest exchange rate), while Sony’s model retails for around 100,000 yen (approximately US$640). Japanese manufacturers rely heavily on external suppliers for key components such as LCD panels.
